Characters: a trend that is… protected
Cartoon heroes, K-pop bands, players or club logos: their images belong to their creators and rights holders. A serious printer cannot reproduce them without permission. Here is how to keep the party spirit without copying:
- Recreate the world rather than the character: its colours, its symbols, its atmosphere.
- Print your child’s drawing of their hero: it’s their creation, and it’s irresistible.
- Photograph your child dressed up as their favourite character and make it the decoration.
- Focus on the name and age in the theme colours.
Which diameter should you choose?
Ø 12 cm for the centre of a cake, Ø 6 cm for cupcakes, biscuits and drinks. Another size? Specify it in your quote request.
How does ordering work?
- In the simulator, choose the diameter and the use (drink or cake).
- Add your photo or drawing, adjust the framing and, if needed, add a text.
- Send your quote request: we confirm the design, price and lead time with you before printing.
Applying it successfully
- On a drink: dense foam, a disc placed flat without pressing, and immediate service. Allow about 15 to 30 minutes of good visual hold, as a guide: it all depends on the foam, the drink and the humidity.
- On a biscuit: a thin layer of icing or glaze to stick the disc.
- On a cream cake: choose the sugar disc, which doesn’t wrinkle.
Frequently asked questions
Can you print a cartoon character?
Only if you hold the rights to the image. Otherwise, go for a homemade drawing, a photo of your child in costume or the theme’s world.
Does a wafer disc hold on a whipped cream cake?
It may wrinkle with the moisture. For a cake, choose the sugar disc.
Which drinks can you put a wafer disc on?
Any drink with a dense foam: a cocktail made with egg white or aquafaba, a frothy mocktail, hot chocolate or coffee with milk foam, beer.
How many discs can I order?
From one to several hundred: there is no minimum order; the price depends on size and quantity.
