Cocktail Bubbles Not Sticking to Alcoholic or Fizzy Drinks? 6 Tips That Work

Flavoured bubble on a cocktail, made with a vapour bubble gun

1. Clean the smoke gun nozzle thoroughly

Are your bubbles bursting too soon on alcoholic or fizzy cocktails? To finally master your bubble gun, here are my practical tips, tried and tested behind the bar.

💡 PRO TIP

Use a soft cloth to unclog the nozzle before every session. A nozzle clogged with old bubble liquid = weak bubbles. Always keep your accessories clean for maximum performance – and for hygiene too.

2. Gently shake the bubble solution

💡 PRO TIP

To stop your bubbles bursting instantly, lightly moisten the rim of your glass with a little bubble mix or water before placing the bubble. A dry surface is the number one enemy of a bubble’s surface tension!

3. Store your bubble liquid properly, at the right temperature

4. Fill the aroma tank right up

💡 PRO TIP

Always leave a small air gap inside the tank (about 10 to 20%) so the liquid can evaporate properly. This produces denser, “heavier” smoke – ideal for stabilising the structure of your bubble.

5. Moisten your glass

💡 PRO TIP

Use an atomiser to spray a fine, even mist all around the glass: uniform moisture eliminates the tiny dry spots that make bubbles burst too early.
