Edible printer ink is formulated with colourings and ingredients approved for food contact. It must never be replaced with office printer ink, even in a cartridge that looks identical.

PERSONALISATION & HOSPITALITY
Personalisation designed for service
Edible Printer Ink: Composition, Safety and Storage
The surface
A stable, sufficiently dry surface, prepared at the right size to keep the design legible.
The file
A high-contrast design, correctly sized and approved before service begins.

Check compatibility
Each device uses a specific print-head technology, ink viscosity and recognition system. Choose a cartridge that is explicitly compatible with your model and its region. An unsuitable cartridge can produce streaks, clog the nozzles or damage the printer.
- Check the cartridge reference.
- Check the date and that the packaging is intact.
- Clean the contact area according to the instructions.
- Run a test on a neutral surface.
Storage and shelf life
Keep the cartridge closed, in a dry place, at a stable temperature and out of direct sunlight. Don’t touch the head with your fingers and don’t leave the cap off between services. If the device won’t be used for several days, follow the recommended shutdown procedure.
Why do streaks appear?
A partly dried nozzle, an uneven movement or a surface that is too wet are the most common causes. Run the priming procedure, clean with the appropriate equipment and test again. Avoid improvised solvents.
Choosing the colour
Brown works well on light foams and biscuits. Black offers high contrast for logos. Creative colours suit event messages, but how they come out varies with the shade of the surface.
Calculating the cost per print
Divide the cartridge price by the yield you actually observe. A cartridge rated at around 3,000 prints for €115.99 works out at roughly €0.039 of ink per print, before variations due to the size and density of the design.
